Funkhauser Film was founded 2002 by Poul Kofod and the name came from Jesper Østergaard and our first developmet project Bunny Funkhauser, a project about a rockband. Actually the idea came from the fact, that in his younger days, Jesper had a band called Bunny Funkhauser.
Our aim is to develop outstanding quality animation for children and their parents
Photographer and producer. He has been involved in the production of 55 feature films – 250 commercials – 30 short features and documentaries, and 12 TV-Series. From 1997 Michael and Poul worked for Egmont Imagination where they have been involved in producing more than 130 half-hours of animation. Including Skipper and Skeeto and The Fairytailer.

Jesper Østergaard is educated from The Danish School of Art in 1990.
For six years, he was running his own Company as a puppet maker, puppeteer, model builder, designer and director of puppet film. Together with DR and Kofod, Schiller Film he developed and directed “The Castle behind the Mist”. In 1997 Jesper joint Poul in Imaginations sister company Imagination production, where Jesper became Head of Creative Development. Since 2002 Jesper, Michael and Poul again work as a team, with Jesper as developer and director.

Poul Kofod started his career as a photographer. Together with his partner Leif Schiller, they were running studios in New York and Copenhagen. In the early 1980s Poul became a producer and director of film and television commercials. He has received many national and international prizes for his commercials.
In 1997 Egmont bought his film production company. Poul became the managing- and later creative director of Egmont Imagination for almost five years and produced more than 130 half-hour animations.
2002 he founded Funkhauser Film.
